History

Zignago Vetro since the 1950’s has been a market leader on the domestic and international high quality glass packaging market. The company produces at its facilities close to Florence and Venice more than one and a half billion containers per year for the Food & Beverages and Cosmetics & Perfumery sectors.

In 2002, Zignago Vetro acquired Verreries Brosse S.A.S, a leading French producer of luxury containers and bottles for the Perfumery and Spirits markets.

In 2004, the company directly undertook the 50% shareholding of Vetri Speciali S.p.A., a leading global manufacturer of specialty high-end containers for the Food & Beverages market.

In 2010, Zignago Vetro founded Vetreco S.r.l. together with two partners (undertaking a 30% stake). The company treats and processes recycled glass from waste collection, transforming into raw material to be reused in the furnaces.

In 2011, Huta Szkla Czechy S.A. was acquired, a Polish glassmaker specialised in the production of standard and tailor-made containers for the Food & Beverages and Cosmetics & Perfumery markets.

Zignago Vetro has been listed on the STAR segment of the Milan Stock Exchange since 2007.
